In 2022, First Gear celebrated its 30th anniversary, and one of the models it chose to commemorate the occasion was a 1/34 scale 1953 Kenworth bullnose tow truck.

Toy Truck Trove is extensive collection

A section of Bob Caley’s beautifully displayed toy truck collection.

For the family’s farming needs, Bob Caley’s dad owned a Ford truck with a stake rack to transport livestock. His sons were gifted this Tru-Scale truck like the one used on the farm. Following heavy play, Bob completely restored it.

A half-ton Dodge fleet-side pickup is among Bob Caley’s toy truck trove. Bob said he simply acquired it for its style and color scheme.

This 1/16 scale half-ton Chevy pickup was made by Ertl. It holds a special memory for Bob Caley, as his sons played with this truck as youngsters. Note the oversize wheels, both front and rear.

International Towing & Recovery Museum features models too

For a different take on models, truck collectors might enjoy a stop at the International Towing & Recovery Museum located in Chattanooga, Tenn. This unique museum offers visitors a stop where they can view wreckers and wrecker models and some of the details of the towing profession. What makes this location special is that the tow truck was invented in the town of Chattanooga.
