Mark Kulak is one of the pioneers of small-run kit production in the 1/87 scale hobby. He’s also forging ahead to the larger scales of 1/64 and 1/50. Here, we share a question-and-answer session with the owner of Kulak Custom Kits. Tell us about your early years. I was born and raised in the small town of Stony Plain, Alberta, Canada, a small farming community close to Edmonton. My grandparents had a small farm on the edge of town and we spent a lot of time there when we were younger. Some of my earliest memories include trucking with my dad, who was hauling beef to eastern Canada. I spent a few weeks each summer in the truck with him. At one point, I even had a broken CB mic I played with in the truck, and I loved seeing all the trucks on the road. Want to read the story? It's available in the NOVEMBER TT&C 2022 magazine!
