Justin Groff, Honesdale, Pa., started his own scale model company at the young age of 19. “I got to the point where I wanted so many things, such as construction equipment or 1/64 scale logging equipment,” he said. “I quickly discovered toy manufacturers were not producing the toys I wanted to collect. I decided to buy a 3D printer and produce my own toys, because I saw what everyone else was making. When I was younger, I did not have the money to spend on scale models, and now that I was an adult, I did not see the models I truly wanted being made. I finally decided I did not want to spend the money buying 3D models others builders made, so I set out to buy a printer and make my own toys.” |
